Why I Joined – Muttaki Kamal

"My motivation to become a co-owner of Assured Science stems from a profound belief in its transformative vision for the future of scientific research. Having witnessed the intricacies of academic and grant-based funding, I am deeply committed to the principles Assured Science champions: to democratize access to scientific knowledge and empower researchers to pursue groundbreaking work unencumbered by traditional financial constraints.

The current scientific ecosystem, as Assured Science aptly describes, operates under an "antiquated system for funding and data assessment" that often leads to "funding gaps" and wasted potential. This system can inadvertently tether scientific inquiry to the dictates of funding organizations, corporations, and governments, potentially stifling innovation and independent exploration. My aspiration is to contribute to a paradigm shift where science, as a "publicly owned utility," becomes truly accessible and available for all, not just a privileged few.

A core reason for my desire to co-own Assured Science is to ensure that finance and funding for scientific research are easily accessible and universally available for all scientists. The prospect of an "ever-present and limitless ow of funds" and the idea that "all projects are funded" resonated deeply with me. Such a model liberates scientists from the burdensome cycle of grant applications and the pressure to tailor research to specific external agendas. It allows researchers to practice science with true autonomy, pursuing their intellectual curiosities and contributing to the global body of knowledge without being bound to please particular funding organizations or political interests.

Crucially, I believe in the vision of scientific endeavor generating its own financial resources. Assured Science’s concept of a "revenue-generating system for scientific research" offers a sustainable alternative to perpetual dependence on external bodies. This self-sustaining mechanism promises to foster an environment where discovery drives its own investment, ensuring the longevity and dynamism of research. This independence is vital for unbiased inquiry and for maximizing the societal benefits of science.

In summary, my passion for making scientific knowledge universally accessible, coupled with a strong conviction that scientists deserve financial freedom and autonomy in their pursuits, aligns perfectly with Assured Science's mission. I am eager to contribute to building this "modern system" where robust data is validated and integrated, and where the collective intelligence of researchers is fully unleashed for the betterment of society, free from the limitations of conventional funding models."
